On Thursday 30th August if you tune into BBC Radio Wales at 6.30 pm to ‘Phil the Shelf’, I will be talking about Elizabeth Mortimer and Queen of the North.  It was a great pleasure for me to chat with Phil about the difficulties of writing medieval historical novels, of making medieval women come alive when history tends to make them invisible, as well as the Welsh background to the novel.  Owain Glyn Dwr was certainly not the rough uneducated individual of Shakespeare’s character in Henry IV part one.

The programme is repeated next Sunday 2nd September, if you miss it.
